Project Description

The Palombo Group took on the role of general contractor in the renovations that took place at Quiet Cove River Front Park. The park is situated in the Town of Poughkeepsie, off of Route 9, and can be accessed via Clearwater Drive. The land is owned by New York State and was originally a part of the Hudson River Psychiatric Center property. As part of a special agreement with New York State, Dutchess County operates the land as a riverfront park and made the improvements that The Palombo Group was responsible for.

The improvements to the park included some site work such as sidewalks, asphalt roadways, parking areas, and a boat launch area for canoes and kayaks. The rest of the improvements that were made were done to the Navy Crew House. It received a new roof and front port deck, a new well for water, sewer lines, electrical upgrades, mechanical upgrades, and HVAC upgrades. Additionally, ADA compliance was addressed with handicap accessible restrooms and ramps leading up to the building.

Work was finished on time and under budget in June 2010.
