Project Description

One of the more well known malls in the area; The Poughkeepsie Galleria, had a bit of a mess on their hands when a 30 by 50 foot section of the adjacent parking garage collapsed during the Winter of 2006-7. The area had received heavy snows that were piled up on a section of the deck that could no longer support the weight. As a result, the second story caved in and the process for repair work was begun.

In late 2007 a request for bids was put out by the owner and architect. The Palombo group responded and was awarded the contract for construction management. As such, we oversaw the repair of the collapsed section as well as reconstruction of several other areas of the parking deck. In all, there were five separate sections that required reconstruction. Work was finished on time and under budget, a Palombo Group standard.
