Project Description
The South Orangetown Central School District now has a newly installed Sport Athletic Turf Field as apart of the 2018 Capital Improvement Project. The field is a multi-sport field, being lined for football, Soccer, Girls Lacrosse and Boys Lacrosse. The project consisted of removing the old turf and trench drains, regrading the sub-base, installing new perimeter drains as well as installing a Shaw Sports Turf Synthetic System with Geo-Fil infill, over a shock pad.
Construction of the new field was completed on August 26, 2019, taking approximately five weeks. The work was performed by Shaw Sports Turf, at a cost of approximately $816,000. The project was administered and coordinated by The Palombo Group.
