Project Description

When the Milton Elementary School in the Marlboro Central School District required extensive renovations, they turned to The Palombo Group to provide construction management. The budget came to $4,783,712 and included changes to the building as well as site work.

Changes to the building were extensive and construction continued throughout the school year. One of the most notable changes was the removal of the existing modular classrooms in conjunction with the renovation of existing classrooms to provide space for full day Kindergarten. Many other improvements were made including: a new entrance way on the lower level, a new elevator, new exterior stairs for both the front and the back, replacement windows and doors, replacement of the building’s systems (heating, ventilation, AC, plumbing, and electrical), asbestos abatement, ADA compliance, technology upgrades (computer equipment, wiring, phone system and security), general building improvements (lighting, painting, window screens) and full roof replacement.

Updates were also made to the site and included a new bus loop and parent drop-off area, a revised traffic pattern, new parking, relocation of the play areas, drainage improvements and additional sidewalks to ensure student and staff safety.

The project was completed on time in the fall of 2005.
