Project Description
The Palombo Group was selected by Beggars Group USA as Construction Manager for the construction of their new office at 134 Grand Street in the cast iron district of Soho. Beggars Group, the largest and most influential independent group of record labels, consists of 4AD, Matador, Rough Trade, True Panther, XL Recordings and Young Turks.
The 20,000 sq. ft. complex full demolition and rebuild encompasses a sub-cellar music recording studio; a cellar level lounge with stadium stairs & listening rooms; ground floor open offices; and custom steel & wire glass storefronted offices on the newly constructed mezzanine level – all connected with flying steel and concrete staircases.
The materials that echo throughout the design include reclaimed wood, vintage wire glass & steel storefronts, custom steel & solid surface desk systems, and tin ceilings.
